| My name is Bintu. Next fall, my
friends and I will take you on an odyssey of African cultures, from around the
globe. My grandmother, Nana Bintu, who lives with my parents and I in Silver
Spring, is our storyteller and travel guide. She is a retired pediatrician. You
will get the chance to meet Muzi, Salwa and Kiddo, my friends. On our fun ride
we will experience African-American, Afro-Caribbean and African folklores.
There will be games; will sing traditional songs; move and step to the beats of
our ancestors. Did I mention treasure hunts too? Are you as curious as I am?
Well, you'll just have to tune in. We hope you will join me and my family, my
friends and their families as we relive, relate and reconnect with our
Heritage. |
